No just go to a page relevant to your site and add ur link. Add only 1
After 5 days add another, then decr. number of days, till u can add max 4 per day

He did mention relevant. I think in that case it wouldn't be spam.

Actually even if they are relevant it's likely they are self serving and spam and will be removed.

They won't be removed. When people say you make a new account your links won't stay for 5 minutes etc, this is pure crap. I have had my links on wiki for 3 months now and counting. If they manage to survive for 1 week, they wont be removed ever, unless you are spamming like an idiot or some competitor reported you. That's why you never tell anyone where your links are on wiki.

To get backlink prospects, you'll have to scour twitter, blogger directories, and probably do a lot of grunt work. It will be worth it for the click traffic alone. Click traffic? Yes, you will be amazed at the click traffic you will get from Wikipedia. People really do click through those resource links.

wikipedia is an editable platform.it changes its contents very rapidly.so there are no permanent links.but as others said if its so hard relevant , chances are that to be there for a long time.

Yeah relevant links work just fine. However don't exaggerate. I once tested on the iPhone page and edited the Link #1 (apple.com) and placed my link. It remained there for 3 days and then got removed. Got 500+ views just from this in 3 days. But as someone notices and reports then it's sad. So always do anchor relevant parts.

    Nice!

I think my best bet is to do something that will make me nationally know and get a page about me.

Don't just submit your additions, however, and be done with it. Make sure that you're creating information that isn't easily available from anywhere else. When you do drop a link back to your site, make sure you market that Wikipedia page. Spend some time with it. Lots of people go to Wikipedia. The only way for you to get traffic to it is to get it ranked in the search engines, not hard to do, but it does take some effort.

Yup, make a page about your site and adding some links would work, but I don't know if they will take it as a marketing way. I'm sure other have tried it but I haven't done it personally. I will be doing it when my site grows bigger. If you just make a new site and post a page about your site, it won't work.

    Easy:
    1. Make an account at wikipedia
    2. edit the relevant pages, add infoes and just anchor to your site ;)
    3. Stick to 1 per week, then keep editing and u get trusted you will be good to link 4 a day ;)
    4. This is not a 1 day thing it will take a minimum of 4 months to achieve 27 links in wiki(atleast took me that) You can surely get 100 in 4 months if you know what you do, but I'm bored easily so I don't edit it much these days. :)

    Hey Webinx,
If i edit something on Wikipedia, should i have the permission to do this? Or would the edited content remain there?

You should make an account. Then you can edit. Don't just edit and put a link on it now, otherwise it will be removed and possibility of your site getting blacklisted for spam.

Choose your niche articles in wikipedia and edit it. Place your url in the external links. that would work for sure.
