Check the following four major parts before purchasing the reseller account.
1st) Disk space and bandwidth provided by the hosting provider and make sure that no other limits are implement like database limit, E-mail account and server resources usage like like memory, cpu etc.

2nd) Check online 24x7 Ticket and Chat boards support.

3rd) Make sure that web hosting company having forum or blog.

4th) Check reviews and price comparison with other web hosting companies and then short list the good web hosting company.

Actually, you WANT to make sure other limits are in place. If there are no memory/CPU limits in place, a single user can monopolize the entire server, causing everything to slow down for the other users. That's definitely not something you want.

Please check following points before you select the provider
    1) Uptime SLA
    2) Read every Reseller Providers TOS carefully.
    3) Please refer latest customer reviews
    4) Check What kind of plans they are providing ( if they are selling unlimited or huge size plan for small price please do not go with that because they will oversell the server resources.)
    5) verify they have 24x7 Technical support
    6) Server location

I actually agree with CHWH-Admin, that those who provide Unlimited are mostly trying to oversell their server to make profits and that is not good,

I think HostGator is the best WebHosting Provider though it costs seems high but their service is good

No doubt "unlimited" is marketing strategy that always use by host. If you can find a good with who manage their server is proper way, it is workable. Most important is how you rate the host and find out their business and operation model.

Support , Uptime , Serverload , Plugins (especially One click Installer). These are the features which a reseller provider should have.

Along the same lines...I always recommend people to contact their customer service and ask any questions you may want to know. This allows you to find out any information that might not be posted on their site but more importantly you get an inside look into their service. You can see how quickly they respond, how thorough their answers are and how flat out helpful (or helpless) they might be.

In terms web hosting reseller that is LIMITED and hassle to managed your sub-accounts, it is better you use VPS + cPanel + ConfigServer Firewall. But if you don't have experience with linux, you are right to start reseller hosting but for only small number of sub-accounts.

Here is the tips for you.
    1) Company Reputation and backgrounds
    2) Read thier TOS/AUP
    3) Request Jailed shell access (for account backups and transfer to other servers)
    4) Do not be attract marketing tricks like "unlimited disk space/bandwith" becuase everything is limited like memory usage script processes, specially if you have many WP plugins, Ruby on Rails, etc.
    5) Fast support also needed

NOTE: If you reach more than 20-30 sub-accounts, its better to use VPS, becuase you have a full access of your server, NO HEADACHE because you are the system administrator.

    Thank you
