Why People Can't Like My Posts, And Why I Can't Like Others?!

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by S/ash, Jan 26, 2013.

    Well,

i don't know why people don't see a like button in my threads and posts. And the same thing to me, i can't find this button.

So i don't know how some members here get those 3 likes, strange a little bit!

    Waiting for your replies

    Thanks

Well, then explain to me how i'll get 3 likes from others that they are already established members. I mean the first one who became an established member, who is the one who liked him? :D

There were over 16,000 established members on day 1 since all the old reputation from the old system was imported as likes.

I too do not understand this. Am I an established member? I can not like anyone's posts. If I am not, why not? I have been here for years with good feedback etc.

seems ridiculous.. but a good way to get people to pay for a premium membership because the people who really love the site for it's information will never get the likes to actually post anything.

Probably would be a much better way to force people into premium membership to set it to 1,000 likes. But okay... if 3 is a bar set so high that it's unattainable for you, I guess... lol

LOL I agree I've been a member since 2010 (actually I had an account way before that but couldn't retrieve login so created a new account) but I never really posted much. Here lately I've been trying to get those three freakin' likes and I'm finding it super-difficult to achieve as well. I even laid out my entire SEO linking strategy for 2013 (surely that would get something, right?) and notta. Had a whole bunch of folks reply to thank me but nobody actually used the like button.

Check it out (hint hint :)): https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/my-2013-linking-strategy.2631274

I think it's a little ridiculous that you have to be established in order to like a post. That means that the thousands of new members (the ones who probably need help the most) can't like a post when I help them out. All the established members think they are Gurus or something and won't bother to like a peon like me :( . Oh well, I guess maybe after I share everything I know and have nothing left to give I may have enough for those three likes, lol.

I also started this new system with no Likes. And my old feedback is better than yours. But I wasn't fettered with this, so keep positive and give contribution to this forum.

I think the whole 'like' thing is ridiculous.
Not everyone is here to contribute, some are here just to get info and to find partners or workers.
I wish I had something to contribute, but I do not. So, that means I am penalized because I am not here for what they think I should be here for. Kind of a strawman argument if you ask me.

Also, I would love to like some content on here, and boost other people's 'like' number, but am unable to do that.

    # If you just want to get info, you don't need to be an established member (got 3 likes), you can read and reply all the threads here.
    # If you want to find partners or workers, you can start a conversation through their threads.

Yes, that is my understanding as well, but what other limitations are there?
Am I able to list domains for sale? Or start threads looking for design work etc?
I was under the impression that there are some limitations to not having the 3 'likes'.
    Cheers!

Yes, you must got 3 likes to do those things. If you can sell domain with good price here, or if you can find great design work with cheap price here, I think it's worth for you to take the premium membership.
This 3 likes rule is a great barrier to the spammers/scammers here who can easily make account(s) and start their threads with the old system.
