I believe this is done by redirecting to a page with a high PR, then once it has gained the PR of that site the redirect is removed.

The easiest way to spot a fake PR would probably be to look at the backlinks and avoid any that have a small amount of backlinks and links from low quality sites.

I also wanted to get backlinks from high PR websites, but soon i discovered that the most of them are fake, and after Google's nest update they will loose the PR. So be very careful and don't trust everyone

You can do it by looking at the number of backlinks, if there are large number of backlinks with higher PR than it is a valid PR, otherwise it don't.

Another way to find it by checking the page rank of inner ranks of the site.

Just look at the number of google backlinks it has and then manually check in google ( link:example.com) . It will show your actual google backlinks, if they are from good high quality PR site then you can trust that it is valid PR otherwise it will be a fake PR site.

Some sites can still have a high PR with a relatively low number of backlinks, it depends on the PR of the backlinks that they do have. However you can take into account the site age, the number of backlinks etc. and your own instinct will tell you if it's too good to be true

Even if you do see a lot of backlinks from high PR sites, actually take a look at the pages to see if the links are: 1) still there; 2) visible and not hidden by CSS; 3) are these sites that are even likely to link to this one. This type of PR manipulation isn't uncommon, I've even seen hidden links from high authority sites (related to the UN and EU).

you can analyze Fake PR of the website or blog from home page of the website. Look at website if website have only 1 or 2 pages but PR 4 or 5, then PR is totally Fake because Google only give high PR to only established and clean website with more then 50 pages.

I got one tool which can find-out fake Page-rank of any website. I tried and it works for me. I am not sure, but it works well. Google it with "fake page rank checker" search query and visit SeoMastering's website.

You can use the backlink checker tool for checking the backlink detail. If it has high PR backlink then it is good.
