I made a new vbulletin forum.

I have placed Google ads in the banner , below the first post and below the last post.

I am also using horizontal adlinks.

Any tips from experienced forum owners for this particular forum:

    Do like I did.

Instead of placing two bars under the first post. Place one ontop of the post (within the post) to increase exposure.

    Peace,

i thnik inline ad systems best for the all forum scripts. so you should add your ads to after messages (inline).

Leaderboard underneath the navbar produces the best for me. I've got a series running talking about Adsense and forums. Check it out, too much to reprint here, maybe you'll find something useful.

By inline do you mean inside the body of the first post? If so, how does this work for you. I've tried it for guest, but can't say I see any difference one way or the other.

Under the nav bar has been proven to have the best results. After the first post and the last post is also a good choice.

Don't be disheartened if your CTR is still low - forums are notorious for that. If it's anywhere between 0.5-1%, it's already good. :)

Also as its a young forum, why not start lightly?

People dont like looking at ads, and become adblind.

That way as time goes by, you can adjust your advertising to get maximum effect.

The thing with a forum, is that if you build a forum with good fresh content, they will come. Organic, word of mouth, whatever. Make sure the people who write good articles stay.

Another thing is, that vbulletin updates quite a lot. Be sure your willing to keep updating templates as new versions come out.

Also, if your not already, you should ponder about how to use the adsense channels better, such that you know what forums/subforums are making you more money, and which ones need more attention.

sachin410, dont google have a rule about having 3 ads max on a page?
my forum isnt used much but gets alot of clicks....

    www.nowares.com/forum

the top advert (between the 2 navbar's) gets alot of clicks, by mistake i think lol
the search box under posts gets used, but for some reason the toplist buttons never get clicked :(

any ideas how to get more clicks to them?

place some ad links under the last post, and one before the first post, and or one after the first post. Some visitors will read only the first post, when they finish, they will want to navigate away, and maybe they will chose one from your adsense, but others read the whole page.
