Ranking High But Low On Traffic

I created a website about 4 months ago
I targeted mainly 2 keywords, one with 450000 searches a month and the other with 550000 searches a month according to adwords keyword tool
I slowly SEO'ed it, built all types of links added content etc
And now i am on top 5 positions for both the keywords for last 5 days
#1 in USA for keyword with 450000 searched , #1 in canada too
#5 in USA for keyword with 550000, #2 in canada

But i receive only 300-500 visitors a day
Whats wrong?

 

It depends on how much is real traffic for EXACT match

 

Might want to change your title tags around or your page descriptions to catch ppls eyes better other that that im not sure :/

 

May be there is no any real traffic on your particular keywords, it also depend on Geo location from where they are coming and what is your keywords.

 

It may be problem of meta description. But i'm not sure

 

youe website's content may be low quality add meta tags to post

 

You can try experimenting a little, as others have said check your meta tags, add more content and you can also just wait awhile.. Google's always changing

 

This could be correct based on your data. If it is an exact match and your KW is #1 in USA for 450 k then this would equal 150 k visitors per month, which is about 5000 per day. How your site description and meta tags look is also paramount in order to make your SE entry visible enough to look at. If they ain't lookin' they ain't clickin.

 

The rank is illusory when your google account is signing in.
If is that true,sign out.and clear your browser's searching cache.

A website just ran 4 mouths could not rank first page on google.

 

check Google's traffic estimator and trend to target correct keywords!

I agree with you. Even I have faced this problem. One of my website was ranking on top five and my another website was ranking on second page, but the 2nd website was getting more traffic than 1st website. There is price matter issue. My 2nd website was more cheaper than 1st. And we had mentioned pricing in title.

 

Simply the content of other website more attract than your website hence everyone don't access your website that why content is King

You were looking at 'broad match' and not 'exact match' when you looked up the totals maybe.

 

300 visitors are really a lot of visitors for just 2 keywords in CA. You may use the exactly match search [ ] for keyword tools. Your data absolutely come from the board match. That's not accurate. Exactly match is the real visitors numbers for each keywords. I think the keywords only got 8000, or less for exactly match

 

You need to come up with better long tail keywords. Ultimately, what we want to achieve through ranking high is to get more traffic.

 

300 - 500 traffic only from US and CA? good, and you said you have #5 position. it should be little high as per position there you are getting 15% traffic again you your targeted keywords having 450000 searches? how did you get broad or exact match?
Try with exact and geo location as well, better try with social media for high traffic.

Maybe what those large numbers mean are hits. not traffic.

 

I think you must have to focus on following points:
1. Add Quality content on your Website
2. Makes your website theme or temple attractive
3. Remove UN-waned ads, if contains
4. Use Social Signal
5. Just focus on quality link building
6. Makes your meta tags and description more attractive
