forum signature links - does google count them as backlinks?

Imo bad, not quality links may be harmful for your ranks...

 

Care to explain how poor quality links to a site actually harms it?

If you are right, then I can get some poor quality links to my competitors sites to hurt there ranking!!!

 

I've never been able to figure out that bit of common wisdom....by that token I could spend half my time building up my site's PR and the other half finding bad neighborhoods to place my competitors. Doesn't seem likely to me that a few links in bad places would do anything at all, minus being a waste of time.

 

If they're links, they count. But the thing is that on most forums threads disappear from the front page into oblivion so quick that when all is said and done the links aren't valued all that much.

as i know for search engine ranking search engine optimisation works. back links from human edited sites work. other than this two can any one give other suggestion.

Yes if the forum is do-follow one. But usually those links are not good quality one. They help but not much.

Short answer is Yes. More accurately though most of these links are not worth that much, and their longevity is a big issue (since forum posts are constantly indexed/deindexed). There are other ways to get one way backlinks, but any link portfolio should incorporate forums....the branding and direct traffic is worth the effort alone.

 

can any one suggest another forum like digitalpoint where if we live signature it will be counted as back link.

 

I'd like to note that just from putting a mediafire link to a file with my name in it in a post here, that mediafire link is now #1 when I searched my name.

This forum also got my new domain indexed within hours of buying it. Of course it's not ranking for anything, but I still think that's impressive. This forum must just have tons of juice.

Yes Absurlutely correct guy's Signature link was count as a backlinks in forums but before this google was update your posting if you are the regular poster and google appretiate your posting..

 

I don't think that it will count as backlink now because after the major updates of Google algorithm,they are very strict and not count forum signature as backlink.It is my thought...May be other have different mind set.
