What's the Differences between Panda and Penguin?

Just i want to know that what the differences between Panda and Penguin and what's the motive of them? and how to work both for a website. I have lots of confusion according it.

 

Google Panda is launched generally to target websites with low quality content, also sites with duplicate content.

Google Penguin was mostly targeting web spam, the sites which do-not follow the quality guidelines of Google are penalized and drop the search engine rankings, sites that used methods like keyword stuffing, sites that was getting links from spam blog's using exact matching anchor text for targeted keywords.

Google Panda -penalize sites with lower quality content and in the process, return sites with high quality content to the top of the results where they belong.
Google Penguin - Google Penguin also looks to tackling Black hat SEO techniques that many sites use to increase their search engine ranking. This includes techniques like;

Keyword/keyphrases stuffing within content.
Comment spamming by including links using the same anchor text.
Links from article directories and directory listings.
Having excessive/unnatural internal links.
Too many external links pointing to your site that use the exact same anchor text.
Excessive links from low quality sites.

Google Panda and Penguin they both are the Google crawling. and work motive is same to them. Panda checked your content quality (that was low and high) and how much Unique. and Penguin checked your keyword and link quality, how much relative and which types.

 

This update is designed to reduce rankings for low-quality sites—sites which are low-value add for users, copy content from other websites or sites that are just not very useful.
This Update was designed to remove/down the websites from index which were doing much more that white hat optimization like creating too many low quality backlinks, use of aggressive exact match anchor text, overuse of exact match domains, blog spam and low quality article marketing, keyword stuffing etc...

 

Both are updates to the search engine Algorithms. Updates which target sites with respect to their content are known as Penguin. Updates which target sites for spam issues are known as Panda. Penguin updates come usually after one or two months. Panda updates occur almost every other day, as described by Matt Cutts, Head of Google Web Spam Team in one of his blog posts.

 

Panda is about content and Penguin is about backlinks. IMHO both are simply to force the little guy to pay for advertising (adwords)

Google Penguin was mostly targeting web spam, the sites which do-not follow the quality guidelines of Google and also spam low quality links, no-flow link, high OBL sites.

Google Penguin is a code name for a Google algorithm update that was first announced on April 24, 2012. The update is aimed at decreasing search engine rankings of websites that violate Google’s Webmaster Guidelines by using now declared black-hat SEO techniques, such as keyword stuffing, cloaking, participating in link schemes, deliberate creation of duplicate content, and others. Google was specifically introduced penguin for the "Over-optimized Websites" in order to rank lower or penalize a website from their search engine.

Panda is a site wide penalty, which means that if “enough” (no specific number) pages of your site were flagged for having thin content, your entire site could be penalized. Panda was also intended to stop scrappers (sites that would republish other company’s content) from outranking the original author’s content
