It starts with on-page SEO. Make sure your site's title and meta-description contains your target keyword. Your article needs to be optimized for the target keyword as well. But a good staring point is to consider yourself as the user, what you'd like to see on others sites when you are browsing the web, make it available on your website. A user friendly site is almost a SE friendly site because search engine give result about the user query, user choose only description that fit his need. use keywords suggestions tools and improve your meta header and title!

 

Three key ingredients are: (1) on page optimization (2) Off Page Optimization (aka back-linking) and (3) Make content engaging to reduce bounce rate.

 

heres something i did that worked - type in something like "s@x" in google. find in the top results one that is clearly a 'doorway page'. copy the structure, replace all keywords to your own relevant keywords, using same frequencies of use of the keyword . whilst rank is driven by other factors like how many inbound links, this should give you a simple way to cheat your way to a high-seo-friendly entry page. focus then on backlinks and content in your main site.
