    Well, what many people do is they will make a review type site advertising or offering a review or comparison or products in a specific niche, brand, category, etc

    Many people use Wordpress for this because they make it really easy and cost effective to set up.

    You can make money as many way and as quickly as you want with amazon associate, especially this New Year season.

    If you are new, you'd better start to promote the bestselling product in any niche you'd love.

    In my opinion, the electronic and weight loss are easiest to start.

    You can start with product comparison review such as "Nikon d90 versus Canon 60d".

    You have to work hard on providing great content and post your article free at weebly or blogspot or wordpress.

    I believe if you start now, it will take 2-3 days for building content, then start to share your opinion (this is the hardest part) around the web.

    webstore.amazon.com is a paid Amazon webstore service but Amazon Associates is free (affiliate-program.amazon.com), check them out to see pros and cons

    If you go to Google and type in "amazon wordpress plugin" you'll find many sites that sell Wordpress plugins that will give you a head start in selling Amazon products. You have to buy them, but they are well worth the cost, and you'll get that back very quickly as long as you take it seriously as a business and learn to promote it.

    I believe promoting high-cost products is the most effective way because you only have to sell a few each month to earn a decent amount of commission.

    you could use the azon theme in Santacruz's post.., i have a few stores with that theme and i find it works well.
    you will need to find the right niche and just keep your site updated regulary.
