    I want to put a Slide Show on the home page of my website. With SEO in mind is there a best/worse place I can put it?

    I would say that you should avoid first page for this. It should be filled with quality text.

    Avoid Flash slide show.. only html+javascript..
    I didn`t agree with Vienna D. You can place slide show on first page as every does.. but better on the top or bottom of each image - add some text describing this image.. and everything will be ok.

    You can put jQuery-HTML5 slideshow after the main navigation generally.

    Ideally the slideshow should be places right after the menu or navigation bar and as far as SEO is concerned then make sure you avoid using flash and simply put java script code (as minimum as you can).

    You can put slide show. I dont think its effect in SEO. Yes, jus avoid flash slide show.

    I put a HTML5 slideshow with flash fallback under the navigation menu and it just take half place. People can see what we want to show once our website open.
    We use the rest half to write texts with SEO in mind.

    I think footer is best part to place a slide show , but keep one thing in mind only use java-script or html to create slideshow ,it will good for seo point of view .
