How does a new guy avoid bad scripts

    Hello

    I have had an idea for either a stock image site or a freelancer site and just come across the idea of scripts and maybe buying an off the shelf solution. My question is though, How do I tell if a script/provider are any good? are there things I need to look out for to make the best decision?
