Images should be your own, they should be clear and visible with a good use of contrast and shade. Their size should be optimal for your audience and the Engines.
Secondly the image files you upload should have meaningful name related to the image. Use the alt attribute for each image for a brief description of your image. Also add the detailed description for that. Image file size should not be very large as well.

Use alt tag and title tags. Alt tags are used by screen readers for blind people. It also appears when the image fails to load. Here, describe what the people can see in that image. Title tags are the ones that appear when the mouse hovers on the image. Here, describe it in relation to the topic of the page, like a caption.

Make sure that you put some name for your pictures in "alt" tag so google can find it.
after that its okay if you dont put large images to your website cause it definitely will slow down your website and you will lose higher position on Google search because over websites load time is shorter. Keep this in your mind:)

    Thank you.

    Friendly Images File name.
1.Having an image named "img310.jpg" isn’t going to help with the Google image algorithm. So a better idea would be to have a file name "wedding-dress.jpg" for example.
2.Images in gif, jpg, or png format can be assigned “alt attributes” in HTML, providing search engines a text description of the visual content.

Ensure the content in the images should be in text format for search engines to read and then have alt and title for the same, which is the perfect way to optimize the image. If the image is heavy you can slice the image to ensure that it loads faster.

Image optimization is a process of place a image in good position in search engines. Need perfect keyword research and place it caption at every image. you can also use meta tag for image. It is very good technique for site promotion . When you are optimizing the image keep in mind that the Google spiders or crawlers can' t read the images so use alt tags for optimizing the images.

    a) ALT and Title tag is important while it help Google to understand what your image is all about while Google only able to read and crawl text .
    b) You can use same image and submit to social media , classified , directories will help your image get more exposure as well.
    c) Make sure your image is not in flash and small kb , Google love website and image that load fast.
