pagerank doesn't equal traffic and money, instead of looking at pagerank look at page authority with a tool like the seomoz toolbar along with niche relevancy. If a site has high authority and the majority of links are anchored and in their own niche then that site has power and is worth getting a link from or more.

PageRank was developed by Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin at Stanford. PageRank is what Google uses to determine the importance of a web page. It's one of many factors used to determine which pages appear in search results.

There is ton if information about PR in many forums and professional blogs, do some leg work. You can also look for the original PR formula to learn how it worked and think what changes google may have done to it in order to make their serps more relevant and bring in more money.

The name "PageRank" is a trademark of Google, and the PageRank process has been patented. A PageRank results from a mathematical algorithm based on the graph, the webgraph, created by all World Wide Web pages as nodes

PR is Google's way of deciding a page's importance. It matters because it is one of the factors that determine that site in the search results page. the only factor that Google uses to site pages but it is an important one..

PageRank is Google’s system for ranking web pages. A page with a higher PageRank is deemed more important and is more likely to be listed above a page with a lower PageRank. It start from 0 to 10 ..0 is the lowest and 10 is the highest..

Pagerank is the value of a blog or website in the eyes of google that given the scale of 1-10, the greater the value the better the blog. This assessment is given based on traffic backlinks are incoming or outgoing.

    thank you

Not withstanding all the Google updates this year, links from pages with high (> PR1), PageRank still helps you get better search engine rankings. I'd much rather have one PR4 link than thousands of PR0s.

PR is based on content credibility, how much google trusts your site, frequent updating content, quality back links, and traffic. good bounce rate, and site age. ... and whatever else google adds to the mix on a daily basis.

Most of the people think that there is no use of Page Rank, but despite of that, personally I believe that there is importance of page rank. You will see most of the pages ranking with no page rank high in Google, but you will see as well that there will be low competition out there against the keywords they are ranking, but when it comes to high competition, most of the SEO factors came into action, including page rank.
