    It depends what someone is going to build, if blog, so wordpress is the best for this, if other websites, joomla is the best choice, I think.

    I think it's better to use Joomla. With Joomla you can develop more dinamic dan attractive website and Joomla has a facility to make a blog inside the website.

    Wordpress is the best platform for blogging all the way. though Joomla is also nice but when it comes to blogging no one can beat WordPress as it is easy to install, very easy to use and very user friendly, more search engine friendly. Go for WordPress :)

    Wordpress is originally more blog oriented than Joomla. But Joomla have excellent blog features as well like K2 Plugin and component.

    I use both Wordpress and Joomla. I would recommend
    Wordpress if you just want to blog. My joomla system
    screwed me up when it came to blogging. I added a blogging
    extension which didn't work properly and I had to do away with it.
    I switched to Joomla blog, which does not have a commenting
    system.

    Word press and joomla both are best CMS. wordpress is best for blogs but joomla is best for creating site. joomla is much more powerful then wordpress.
