Hi! So, I have a funny picture site, my RPM is around 1$, so now my only job is getting more, waaay more traffic. At the moment I don't really know where to go and what to do. My content seems to be good because our funny pictures are really upvoted on other bigger entertainment sites.(some pictures are shared by thousands on 9gag... our last has 6000+ shares...) but our traffic keeps low and we get only few likes on our webpage. Google doesn't really like our site because of the few written content and the low page rank so I need another thing. Thanks for your help and I hope this thread will help for others too!
Actually there are many way's to get traffic without search engine. While you aren't expecting traffic from search engine that your sites content is low that better you use that other source from where you can get huge traffic. I think forum posting may a good option in this situation, though I am not experienced. Also you can hire some freelancer from oDesk to work for you...
Image sharing, Forum Participation and Social sharing & networking are good techniques that can drive more traffic on your Funny Picture Site.
Why are you looking at search engine for traffic? Look, search engine in not the only way of driving traffic. There are several other ways to drive huge traffic to your site. Just follow them. Go for Social Media and promote your content on social networking sites..Create some great opportunity like a quiz or some activity for users on social networking sites so that users participate in your activities and get aware about your website..You can place some offers too for users..
integrate your facebook fan page with your site and start sharing through fan page, after some time your post will be shared automatically by the people if they really liked them and your social network will increase which will result in driving traffic to your site...
