50,000 unique visitors monthly and not making good money

    Hello,
We have 50,000 unique visitors monthly and we are making just $150 a month. We are a site for adult students of English from all around the world having most of our visitors from the US, Europe and Japan. We have around 500,000 page views a month. Our visitors spend about 6 minutes on our site on average. We send 20 newsletters to our subscribers a month.
    1) What is the best strategy to make more money?
    2) Is there any good company we could hire?
Thank you for any help or advice you provide.

You can use adsense if you don't..
And maybe have some affiliates and promote the items on your website in the related pages..
You said your site is for adult students.. You can promote some books from Amazon there..
And also you can sell ad spaces..
If you provide me a link, I may even think about buyying a space =)

You could experiment with CPA, or Aweber, Try build a really intriguing call to action for an email list!

Place ads on your website! It's very easy to do.

Also, you probably want to modify your sales page/copy to better attract customers. Do you mind sharing the link to your site?

Using adsense can be a good option but if you want to use it, use it very wisely. Use 1-2 units in every page, not more than that. Keep on changing the placement of your ads to observe which placement works for you the most. This way you will be able to get the most out of your adsense account.

I would say put Google adsense ads. You could also personally reach out to advertisers and see if they would be interested in putting their ads on your site....

Try buysellads.com. They have a great platform for finding advertisers

The question you should be asking yourself is: Is the traffic targeted?

If it is just random visitors who don't know what they're looking for, then of course you will not make much money. You need to look at where your visitors are coming from, and how you can engage them more to fit their needs.

You must build a relationship with your readers in order to make money. People don't buy from someone they don't trust.

I would use google adsense, not sure what your selling but preselling is very important, also if its not targeted traffic your not gonna convert well. you dont wanna send people looking to buy a weight loss program to a problem with sleeping website.

What the propose of your website? Providing information or selling books?
Try with Amazon, ebay. By the way make sure those 50k traffic are real traffic or any spammy?

Better you can try with any good online marketing company I'd suggest: Reality Premedia Services.

I am not sure if you use Adsense, but if you don't... start using it!
Also, 20 newsletters a month? maybe a bit too much?
And remember your website is "Adult English Students" i am not sure if it is the type of people that come to your site or if its a site where you can actually study, if its the second one its hard to make money, since they come to learn and don't visit your website by accident. What im trying to say is: they go to your site knowing what they wan't to do and will just come for that.

Don't hire any company, its totally unnecessary. Please pm me if you have more questions or talk a bit more... i don't like posting a lot of info publicly on the forum :p

    Good luck

Well, since you've got a good amount of traffic, try to use adsense, take a look at your competitors and see what they're doing, also take a look at your content, find out what your target marketing is asking for and give them what they want...

If they spend only 6 minutes on a website it means that there isn't anything on the homepage that would capture their attention, make them curious and excited. Probably a funny exciting video on the first page that is related to what you do would help.
