I have a matrimonial site Sanjog Se . I have done directory submissions, Social bookmarking and more seo. What i have to do more for getting ranking.
To speed up the process, use a pinging tool on your backlinks and the website itself. I usually get a site indexed and showing in google in less than a day
To Get Good Results You Should Carry On All Off Page SEO Techniques, But One Thing Which Is Most Important, Is The Quality Of Content.
You need to create a blog and pay for content. That will make google see you as a content producer and rank you better. Pay attention to how all the big named sites are adding blogs.... Blogging is POWERFUL
I suggest you try going to ranking locally since your site is specific to a location. I also suggest building up your social media presence. Advertise on Facebook, or get a Facebook page and interact with your target market. Hope that helps. Have a good day!
Here is my advice...Add more content using keywords that are going to be used in your target areas (your content is a bit thin).Start a referral/affiliate program that pays when the customer does.Make sign up free but the ability to do anything, like send messages, part of a membership.Get the word out as much as possible by writing an article in the target language and english every two days and submit it, blog it, squidoo it (spun well of course).Use social media really well by going to facebook and setting up a simple page (putting a lot of content on it like statistics) and then going and liking other peoples comments that are interested in something similar... look around, like everyone.Start a twitter, tweet the same information you have on your facebook account. Follow people you think would be interested. There is a ton of stuff you need to be doing.
Oh and one more thing, whether they are real or fake.... Put lots of people on there to get it started and then take them off as people really do sign up...
Totally agree with this: I only discovered this by accident myself recently. There's an ENORMOUS difference between two sites with similar linking and social activities if one has a regular blog. Even 1 post a week is enough to boost the site, 2 a week is even better. Since you can pick up 200-word posts for a pittance these days, throw $50 at a content producer, install WP and the Editorial Calendar, schedule them up and you're sorted for the next six months. Agreed: you're actually in a MUCH better situation than most sites. Your audience is purely local to India (and ex-pat communities). That means you can geotarget everything and reduce your ad costs massively. Facebook's really good at targetting and there's a big Indian community on there. You can also look at advertising on all the PTC sites and other "make money online" places as the Indian populations on those is significant. Basically, don't go for ANY general advertising. Geotarget everything (or social target, depending on the advertiser's options). Great advice there, all of it. That's probably the best shortlist you'll see of what you need to be doing! On top of that, if you don't want to wait while traffic picks up you can always use GPT sites like Microworkers to get people to create profiles for small payments, find other starter sites who'd be willing to host a banner in exchange for hosting theirs and that sort of thing. It's as much WHO you know as WHAT you know these days. On a personal note, I'd get rid of that fricking annoying helpdesk floater button, too. Put it at the top as a fixed graphic, then again at the bottom if you want. Floating crap just gets in the way and makes site navigation frustrating, IMHO. Good luck.
