What method of building backlinks do you prefer?

I'm thinking about building more back links to my site but I just don't know on where should I focus. Hope someone here could help me.

For building more and more back links you do yahoo answering, blog posting, blog commenting, forum posting and directory submission. but remember your keyword and content selection is good.

 

Focus on forum posting and article submission.

 

Find a mass of friend links exhausting your ability!

 

must use facebook , stumbleupon and other social marketing site.

 

I suppose it depends on what niche you're site is in but I focus on guest blogging, forum/blog commenting, and social media sites. If you have difficulty focusing, then you might want to try having a backlink schedule for each week where you focus on one backlinking method each day.

I recently use .edu and .gov for back link and they give us authority links

When you say facebook, do you mean advertising on facebook, or by maintaining your presence on facebook, guest posts on popular walls or what?

every one has their own experience on building backlinks. Blog commenting , forum posting & social networking are good method for building backlinks.

 

There's only one method of 'backlink building' that is now guaranteed to pass Google.

And that is to write new, original high-quality content so that other people backlink to you willingly.

Earned backlinks are the only thing you should be aiming for going forward.

Everything else just succumbed to Google's statistical analysis of 'unnatural backlinking structures'.

 

Rather perversely, 'randomly' is probably the best way to do it, if you really intend to try and 'cheat'.

The reason is that any other strategy is easy for Google to spot nowadays, because it doesn't conform to a 'natural' pattern. A natural pattern, of course, definitely ISN'T '10 twitter links, 250 forum links, 2206 blog comments, 5000 forum profiles...' etc.

The amount of data they just crunched allows them to 'profile' the people who think they can mimic what happens when a good piece of original content gets picked up by the Web community.

You don't seem to get it. If you try to 'build' backlinks, and you build so many that it could have an effect on the rankings of your page, Google will now spot it, and discount it. Very best case, you are wasting your time. Worst case, you get banned.

Google finally accumulated enough data to automate the process of spotting unnatural backlinks. End of.

 

I do link exchange which takes years, but I think forum is best

I've answered this in the copywriting thread. I'd advise you post some examples of the content, because people will be reluctant to give you access to their servers via FTP without some sort of demonstration that it's worth the risk (no offence intended).
