Hi All, I'm a Sri Lankan who do transactions in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) and I developed an eCommerce website (Shopping cart) to a Sri Lankan who resides in UK.
that client was introduced to me by a friend of mine & I agreed to do that for 50,000 LKR (around 300 Euros) and did not get an upfront payment due to the connection of my friend.
now site is all done & the client says they will pay me 50 Euros because I said the cost is 50 (generally in Sri Lanka we call 50,000 as 50 in short & every Sri Lankan knows it)

is that my problem that the client's unawareness regarding the prices of eCommerce websites?

yes it's my fault that I did not get an upfront payment (because of the friendship of the referred person)

so, what can I do for that to settle down the project which satisfies both of us..

The friend of yours obviously knows this guy as he recommened him to you. So get him involved and see if he can help you in this matter. The difference is only 250 Euros so the matter should not be hard to resolve.
If there is no resolution then your only option is to take the matter to small claims court. Usually when people receive court papers they have a change of heart, and they pay up to avoid going to court.

thanks for the reply. but the thing is they say they only can pay 50 Euros & no more. (that's the disgusting part. expecting a tailor made eCommerce site for 50 Euros? Seriously??)
and I can't complain to UK authorities from here (Sri Lanka), can I? (or complain to Sri Lankan authorities to take some action?)

I missed that part about him being in the UK. That is an entirely different matter. It's too small an amount to take it up with the British authorities. I would suggest that it is probably going to be a loss for you.
