Hi frnds, Some of the websites which is in google 1st page doesn't have any meta tags and keywords..how it is possible .how that sites are in 1st page of google.
Perhaps they have good URL structures, a good page title and good on page relevant content which is where the keywords are found rather than in the meta tags
Agreed with all those above. Search engines seem to be placing less relevance on meta tags than they used to. Unfortunately it's not 2005 anymore. The future is backlinks and authority. Read up on best link building strategies, there's a wealth of information on Google and on these forums.
Google has come out and flat out stated that they don't put any weight on meta tags any more. It used to be one of the most important factors in the early days until spammers figured it out and started keyword stuffing in the meta tags. Other search engines have followed suite and admitted that they are really decreasing the importance of meta tags in their rankings. That's why plugins like "Yoast SEO" for WordPress (which happens to be the best in my opinion) don't even offer a meta tag field in the default settings. Of course you can change this (and I do) - why not include them just in case? From my experience the in-content keywords are really what matter, along with the slug (URL address) and title tags. And social measure are REALLY gaining importance especially for Google. The more a piece of content is shared on social networks the better chance it has of ranking well - and this will only continue to be the trend. Also, look out for individual influence measures with Google. Thinks like "Authorship" are starting to make a big difference and will only grow in importance.
They are important since they appear in the search results. Many businesses include their phone numbers in their meta tags so they will show up on the search without needing to click to see their website. It also depends on the search engine.
I don't think meta tags matter anymore.. There are too many websites, and all could have similar meta tags.. I don't think that google gives a ... about metatags.. The important things are -like the people above me mentioned- titles and the keywords in the content.. For images, alt tags etc.. And yeah.. The website could be popular too..
You may find that google has changed even this meta tag law bacause it does not tell us when it is making changes or these site has very good backlinks
Actually it's the same game, but different rules now. If you train well 24/7 as a SEO player, you would know exactly what to do. i,e Back-Links is the main thing today, but you need to vary your anchor text Examples of Brand Based Anchor Text: CompanyName.com Company Name http://www.companyname.com CompanyName (No Space) http://www.companyname.com/ (forward slash at the end) Company’s website For Your Reference: http://www.textlinkbrokers.com/blog...st-penguin-anchor-text-optimization-strategy/
The keywords meta tag nowadays seems to be nearly, if not completely, useless. I still take a few seconds to add one to each new page, in case some search engines other than Google might still be using it. I would recommend that you continue to write a good description meta tag. There's no guarantee, but there is still a good chance that your description meta tag will be used by the search engines underneath the hyperlink to your web page in the search results. That way, you have some degree of control over what is displayed in the SERPs.
Google doesn't consider keywords any more. Whether we add it the site or not, Google doesn't considers it.
Meta Tags in Before getting into the facts, for the benefit of those of you who are new to SEO (search engine optimization), the keywords tag is a meta tag located in the head of your web page/blog post. Keywords Meta Tags in the beginning the keywords meta tag was abused by marketers. They would do what is called “keyword stuffing†to try and manipulate the search engine results. Keyword stuffing is when the list of keywords/key phrases are not related to the actual content within the web page. The major search engines and directories figured this out and adjusted theirindexing methods to compensate for this trickery.
Google doesn't consider meta tags. Some websites are listed top in Google because they have very good content.
Google is not giving more weight-age to meta description & meta keywords for web page ranking. Now! Google has started to give importance to the content based website.
The reason to use the Description meta tag nowadays is not for ranking. Use the Description meta tag so that (usually, not always) Google and the other search engines will use that for the text below your blue hyperlink in the search engine results. If you do not include a Description on each of your web pages, the search engines will just pick and choose a random portion of text that they think is most appropriate. Include Descriptions for each page, and it is likely that the search engines will use your Description for the text below the link in the search results. Wouldn't you rather have them use your description than theirs?
Content is king, if google think that their content is good and suite to rank it , google will rank the site and provide a random meta that suite to site as well. Content play a huge role, then only come to those backlink & social media integration.
In the site configuration, you can turn back on the Meta Keywords management option for each Resource. This is deprecated and will be removed in the future though; TVs are a much better way to handle site meta content.
