Facebook ads are more behavioral and contextual. They are passive and you have to create compelling ads to entince people to stop what they are doing and get them to click your ads. Adwords is active-you are reaching people the moment they are searching for you. Typically higher conversions with Adwords.

Certainly YES. The difference is Facebook ads are contextual ads and shows ads to irrelevant peoples mostly. But Adwords clicks are from mostly relevant people always.

The key difference is that AdWords is keyword driven whereas Facebook is about demographics. For this reason, Facebook tends to work best for brand building purposes and AdWords for direct marketing. However, it is possible to drive sales and build a business on Facebook if you're advertising the right products to the right people!

    I am agree with "onlinemarker":
Google Adword is keyword driven, I think people search based on "keyword.
But, Facebook search not based on "keyword"

I don't like facebook ads. Like Swathi said they show to irrelevant people. I find running competitions, no matter how small, on my facebook page gets more followers + more traffic to my website. Or simply asking an open ended question, even if its slightly irrelevant, works magic.

Well, from my experience i can say that Google is a very big and no one can beat it for rite now. Google is at top because almost every internet user wants to visit Google as compared to Facebook or any other medium, so since Google is having most internet traffic that's why we have many more changes that people will visit our ads at ad-words as compared to Facebook ads,
So hats off for the ad words....simply
