Outsourcing Social Media Marketing or Keeping It In House?

Discussion in 'General Marketing' started by SocialMediaFan, Dec 5, 2012.

There are many companies out there claiming to be experts in social media marketing. Is there such a thing as an expert in this field? Would it be easier and more cost-effective to use existing resources for social media marketing or do these companies provide added value and something extra?

Outsourcing social media is like having someone else propose to your fiance for you...it's not gonna be personal. Social media is about being personal and real, outsourcing it is a waste of time.

That is true to an extent, however, what would you do if you don't have social media experts that could give you an effective campaign. Would it be better to spend the money on training staff or outsourcing to a company and giving a bit of input and direction to make it personal?

It can be easier and cheaper, but not effective. When evaluating if outsourcing social media marketing is the way to go for your business, consider the following: Costs/Resources, Urgency, Return On Investment. The primary and most important reason for a businessman to outsource social media marketing would be saving time. If neither you nor your employees have a sound understanding of how to influence and use social media to pass on professional messages then outsourcing is the right solution for you.

I agree. Time saving is one of the most important factors. It also affects costs too which is why many digital agencies are having success in competing for clients.

In addition to the suggestions above, you also have to consider other factors, like your time, budget, and efficiency.
If you are too busy and you don't have enough time to do social media marketing, then you definitely need an expert.
But be careful in finding the real one, since some people might claim that they are experts, which in reality they're not.
Aside from your time, you also have to consider your budget and explore or test how effective it is to outsource social media marketing.

It is totally depends on you whether to outsource or do it by yourself. If you have enough time to spend on social media marketing then do it by yourself or otherwise opt for a best social media marketing service like KRDS.

That is a big concern. Many people claim they are experts in social media simply because they use it so much. Social media marketing is not just about generating more fans it is about communicating with people and creating a good brand. In some cases, social media can also be used to create leads and business opportunities. When you do choose a social media agency, make sure you understand the strategy they put forward to you and ask as many questions as you can think of to test their expertise.
