How can I create a robot.txt file using google?

I have a new website. I used wordpress platform. Now I want to use robot.txt file for avoid some page google crawling. Is it possible? Can anyone help me?

 

To upload Robot.txtFile's that you have made in note pad to your site download www.coreftp.com, free fast and easy, call your web host to get the password for that server (FTP) once you upload the file into the ftp you will see it on the left side then click on it and download it which will move it to the right side exit out of the site then sign back in and you should see the text file you created. Use coreftp for adding HTML or any codes for that matter to your website.

 

you can use this plugins http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/kb-robotstxt/ or you can search any robots.txt on add new plugins section.

There are lots of tools out there to help you generate a robots.txt file. Try this one: http://tools.seobook.com/robots-txt/generator/. Once the file is created you need to upload it to the root directory of your website using your FTP login details and a FTP client. I use a Firefox Extension called FireFTP: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/fireftp/

 

You can search for plugins to noindex author, category, tag etc pages.


Just make sure you don't accidently noindex pages that you do want indexed.. like your homepage.

 

You should install the plugin...for .txt files.
