Is it possible to get PR2 without any backlink?

    Hello guyz,

I am wondered after seeing the following website status. One of my friend's website http://mekanika.co.in/ which has the Google PR2, but no backlinks. Even the domain age is also 10 months old and no traffic data as well.

Whether it is a Google PR update mistake? I am just confused... :(

Please share your views and thoughts in this.

From what I've heard, there have been a lot of flukes in the latest Google PR update as reported by many people. However, Google updates a websites PR frequently but only for Google's eyes. What we see may not be the accurate PR as judged by Google. I don't know, just a possibility?

the site must have been linked from somewhere one way or other. page rank is not gained, its transferred from other page rank sites so your friend's site must have backlinks whether he knows about it or not

This is amazing. I guess it is possible, the question is, will it stay this way? I hope it does.

    Hi Dude:p
As per mine experience it is not possible without any back-link you get PR2.
Google show only quality back-links but this is impossible without any back-links you get PR2.

SultanOfSEO is correct. The only way a site would get to PR2 is to have backlinks. How do you know that the site has no backlinks? The LINK: operator only typically gives a VERY small sample of a site's backlinks. Just because it shows no links does NOT mean that Google doesn't know about links to the site.

Think about it, boys. It is the sandbox phenomenon. When a new site is submitted, and it meets certain guidelines then Google gives it a chance to shine for a certain period of time. If people start clicking on it like mad and linking to it, then Google can use the new data to rank it properly. If it turns out to be a dog, well it falls into the sandbox. One way to give it a temporary boost is to give it a higher-than-expected PR rank. But once the dust settles it will go back where it belongs.

I think it could be possible through 301 redirection.

of course, it is possible, if you are posting useful content regularly and your site is receiving traffics regularly then it would help in increasing page rank of the site too.

PR is based on whole site, its depend upon relevant and unique content on the site and the design of the site. Google calculate full site and then increases there PR.

    Thanks,

Yes you can achieve this if you have unique and quality based content on your site. I have saw many site those never done link building of their site and have 3-4 PR.

Possible, but as time goes by and it will have a backlink without you knowing it.. if you content is interesting and has tons of visitors. readers and visitors themselves will be the one who submit or bookmark your website.

I am surprised to see that, Its really possible to get pagerank 2 and above, but no backlinks. Even the domain is new and no traffic data as well.

Very good advice, although you could expand on it more and include extra information such as checking the user's posts (I know it sounds silly to go through a user's posts to see if you want to buy something off them or not but it really does help), check whether all the information their telling you is correct, ensure that you know what your buying etc.

Without any back link how can a site get PR2 rank from Google? Please be sure about the checking of your back link. <LINK: domain name> use this operator to check back link.
