Drastic fall in Google.com search visitors from US

Discussion in 'SEO' started by jk2009, Nov 21, 2012.

During last 3-4 days, I have experienced a drastic fall in the number of US visitors from google.com search results. However, the visitors from other country-specific google search domains such as uk, in, remains more or less the same. Are others also facing similar problems? Is there any problem with google.com US servers?

Google i updating it's algorithm every day, so you may have been affected by the latest PR/Algorithm update.
Just check if you have links coming from "bad neighbourhoods".

Thanksgiving. It's a very big deal in the USA. A lot of people will probably have left work early on Friday to get together with family, etc. It's the "long weekend". Things will return to normal soon, so don't worry. :)

Google made a change around Nov 17.. for many webmasters there has been a 20%-30% drop.. many other webmaster forums are all abuzz about it.. it seems for some the traffic is creeping back up today.. a little..

I'm sure this is the case for many, but this does not explain the cliff-drop on Nov 17 that many of us are reporting. We arent talking about a gradual decrease over a few days - we are talking about a 20%-30% drop, overnight.

What we are talking about looks more like this.
This is 2011 (orange) compared to 2012 (blue).. the big drop in blue was Nov 17. Notice that 2011 was steady..

I wouldn't quite call that a cliff drop, but sharper than 2011. Do (or did) you get a fair amount of traffic from Google images? Is the above all traffic or just USA traffic from Google.com?

Well take that as a natural issue since you know there are always ups and down for keywords ranking in Google.

I'm never faceing this kind of problem, I think its a bug and Google also agree that his search engines contain a lot of bugs in last 6 months. That's why many reputed websites loses their ranking as well as a lot of black hat techniques are die.

If we set USA as geographic target on google webmaster tools, we will get more activity from US users ?
