It does not matter what extensions you are using. The most important thing is your domain name and the content. As we all know, the web is jam-packed with millions of websites using a variety of domain names available nowadays. So, competition is really stiff in this field and you need to attract various users and create a website with a very unique domain name.

It doesn't matter. Search Engine wants website that can offer quality to readers. This should be your priority.

I agree, what matters more in SEO terms are getting the right kind of backlinks and building quality sites with great user experience. However, .com, .net and .org are still the top three extensions most people prefer.

I don't know in what sense you guys are saying that domain extension doesn't matter in seo. Can you please brief it out ?

For Example, I will prefer co.uk for UK not .com domain. so don't you guys think domain extension matters ?

Yes Domain name Extensions matter a lot but your domain extension should have nothing to do with your SEO efforts. These domain extensions only exist to help categorize different information on the web. See the example given bellow

• .gov – Only government run websites hold this domain extension.
• .edu – This is used for educational websites.
• .org – Generally used for non-profit organizations/non-commercial entities.
• .com – This is the #1 choice for most webmasters. It is typically used for any type of website that is “commercial” in nature.
• .net – This stands for “network” and is typically used for many online operations. This is probably the second most popular extension used.
• .info – This isn’t a very popular extension and was once heavily used by spammers, but many companies full of information use this extension.
When starting a website, you are going to have to decide which domain extension to use. If you’re a government run website, a website run by an educational institute, or a non-profit organization, the domain extension is clear. However, it isn’t so clear for other types of general websites. This led me to wonder: Does domain extension really matter.

And also On SEO The only type of extension that matters is a country code extensions (such as .us in the U.S). Country extensions will not rank as highly on search engines in foreign countries, so if your primary audience is overseas you may want to stay away from a .us extension.

Many people are following .com it looks like brand and commercial but other extensions are also good to SEO. Search Engines like Google never consider about extensions they consider only how you followed algorithms.

Extention does not matter for search engine. Your website should have quality content.

Domain name extensions do matter but they are not the be-all, end-all for your site's SEO. You can choose use .net, .info or local extensions like .uk but it's still better t o get a .com whenever possible because this extension is more popular among users.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!
