Bitcoin - Do you accept it?

Just wondering, how many other businesses or members of DP accept bitcoin?

Ive just started to accept bitcoin in my business, just wondering if anyone has had any issues? If so how did you stop them?

Just wondering if I may get abusive users?

Your money could literally be worthless tomorrow, and could go up 10 times as well. There's just no place for that trying to run a real business. That's not even counting whatever accounting nightmare this would create.

Since im using the bit-pay payment processor, it calculates the latest BTC market rate up against my currency NZD - So there is safety there with the BTC currency.

 

I do accept them not matter if prices fluctuates. Eventually it will increase in value. Isn't internet the future? Then bitcoin is in it

If I ever understood bitcoin that well then I would use it, otherwise I don't feel safe at all using it.

too unstable? what was it that makes it too unstable to use? I'm new to the bitcoin concept does the value fluctuate a lot? I think one concern I would have is the exchange rate, how convertible is it?

The world has enough problems already with money in one form, leading to greed, poverty, corruption, extortion and a wide gap between the "haves" and the "have-not"s in the "real" world. Are bitcoins going to help assuage any of these issues or are they just going to open another window for socio-economic unrest (including hackers and money launderers) So no way bitcoin for me!

 

Actually all payment processors who wants to grow up will have to drop bitcoin (Paxum for exemple) Bitcoin just like eGold in the past, is pure virtual money, dealing with that kind of funds is risky, very risky, so off course it could do the job and you could make some good cash but at the end, if you are not carefull you could loose much more than just a few bucks if you rely too much on it

What do you mean if you are not careful, how do you be more careful? How do you know if you are relying on it too much, how much should you rely on it?

 

I am working on setting up an opencart based ebook site that accepts bitcoins.

 

I accept Bitcoin as one of the payment options on my website via OKPAY and I'm pleased with this option. I would say that OKPAY is the most simple and user-friendly bitcoin processing service, Bitcoin processing fees are lowered to 2.5% for a deposit/payment and 1% for a withdrawal.
