    Does not matter but do not use too much h1 tags with keywords or it will be keyword stuffing.

    I would avoid it if if gives you an error. I'm sure somewhere down the line all those error's won't look good

    Header tags are meant to organize your content. If you have ever created an outline for a school paper, you know about headings. But online content is a bit different. You should never have a 3000 word paper in one article on your site (usually). 500-1000 words is ideal, therefore the scope of your article does not need more than one main heading (H1). Your article could look like this:

    <H1>Article Title (keywords)</H1>

    [Small introduction, one or two paragraphs]

    <H3>Topic One (keywords)<H3>

    [Topic One]

    <H3>Topic Two (keywords)<H3>

    [Topic Two]

    [Summary of article]

    If you are writing a 500 word article this format is perfect. You can use H2 instead of H3, but I like the size of H3 better. It's easy to write when you organize your thoughts first, and makes it much more understandable and valuable to the reader, which is more important than SEO tricks. Furthermore, using headings properly allows Google to better read your content. If they see 3 different headings with targeted keywords, then a few keywords within the paragraph of those headings, that is optimized content in Google's eyes and allows bots to see exactly what the article is about.

    I find it much easier to just use H3 and get the size I want for that particular article, rather than digging through the CSS file trying to figure out which H2 to change. Im just lazy like that I guess lol ;)

    Thanks, r3dt@rget for your input. I agree with your suggestions on the use of H1 and H3 tags, though better not crowd the page with those tags.

    I dont think so its good to use couple of h1 tags on a single page, but you can use h1, h2 and h3 tags. In this way search spider would be better able to understand the content of your webpage :)

    I find it very quick and easy.... If you don't like the size of H2 all you do in your CSS file is:
    h2{
    font-size: 22px; /*example*/
    }
    Code (markup):
    Or, if you want only SOME of your H2's to be the size of an H3:
    h2.h3size{
    font-size: 22px; /*example*/
    }
    Code (markup):
    In your html:
    <h2 class="h3size">blah blah blah</h2>
    Code (markup):
    That's pretty simple to me and at the same time you'll be using the right tags where they are supposed to be used. That's what CSS is for. I wouldn't use the wrong tags and disturb my layout for SEO all because I'm to lazy to write those few CSS lines like above.

    A single one is recommended. But having 2-3 might not be too bad.

    Why not use H2 for the rest?

    Anyway mate, please note that these play very little role nowadays...

    One great example I've heard about using H1 only once in a single webpage was:

    "I am sure you've looked many newspapers and they all have one thing in common; they all have "only have 1 MEGA HEADLINE" on top. And that's with a perfect reason; to grab attention of people to sell their newspapers."

    Just like that, you are supposed to use H1 only once AND when you have some attractive "news" for your audience. But if you feel that there are other mega news on the same webpage, then you are still left with h2, h3, h4, h5 & h6. You could also use these...

    Good day,

    It depends on your page content. If your page talks about a single topic, one H1 tag should be sufficient. You could consider multiple H1s if the page has different sections, each defined with its own summary and hence a unique H1 from the rest.

    Following are the numbers of H tags you can use on a page:

    H1 Tag - 1
    H2 Tag - 2
    H3 Tag - 4
    H4 Tag - 8
    H5 Tag - 16 and
    H6 Tag - 32

    Well there are other factors also like depth of the content and number of words we are using on that particular page.

    All these tags must follow the theme of the page.

    Hello

    Normally try to USE single H1 in a web pages if required some other heading then make it h2 or h3 in case you need h1 only then you can use 2-3 h1 tag without any problem. More then that will show that you are doing spamming work.

    Hope you understand.
