Hi, First of all, I'm sorry if this post would be considered as miscategorized. I thought of posting this to the Affililate Program forum, but it seems that affiliates are the ones who post there instead of sellers who use/run the affiliate programs. Anyway, I'm new to IM, and I'm planning to launch my own online business in a couple of months. I'm looking at my options for running an affiliate program. I have two choices: managing my own platform (using plug-ins or software such as the WP Affiliate Platform) or using CJ/JVZoo/Clickbank. So far, I'm 70% convinced that I should manage my own platform, as using third-party aff programs will not only cut into my profits, but also give me less control as to how I run my aff program. So I guess my question is: to those who use CJ/JVZoo/Clickbank--why choose these third-party platforms instead of using your own? What are the benefits? And why should I not just create my own aff platform/program? Thanks a bunch!
It's not only about profits, you have to think about how swamped you'll be if you do it all yourself. Clickbank would be much easier as you'd have more free time to run other aspects of your business and grow it
Thanks ninjamtlt1! But I still am a bit confused--wouldn't it take the same amount of effort for me to manage my own platform and to manage it via Clickbank? What additional things would I be doing were I to use my own platform?
I personally agree that strategy to sell product infront of CJ/JVZoo/Clickbank affiliate network is saturated. Marketing is about spread the words out and with the presence of Adwords, facebook and twitter, you can do the marketing yourself. Waiting people reselling your product takes time. if you confident with your product, you can act as soon as possible and rip the profit yourself.
Hi unknownpray, I'm still looking at using affiliates to sell for me. While I am going to market my service heavily, getting other people to market it too just widens my reach. I don't see any disadvantage at using an affiliate program. The question is whether I should manage my own, or pay for a third-party platform. Thanks!
