A new content in the old article

    Good evening

    Please help me to find out an answer to my question.

    There is an article with an image in it, but the size of the text is not big (approximately 50 words).
    Now I found out that the size of the article must be bigger.
    If I add a new unique content into my article, Google would consider this article for a new one???

    If yes, how much time must I wait until Google knows that a new content appeared in my article???

    Sorry, if my English is not so good.

    Google treated as new article = new content, not old one, if you pinged, that will effect one or two days.

    May I ask where is the article posted? If it is in some article directory, then submit it in a few good social bookmarking sites and after a few days the new text should be indexed.

    If it's a popular website, updating the content won't be a problem. As the other poster has suggested, you can bookmark the url to speed up the process. Update is always good, it may change your rank but Google looks and favors for freshness.
