What is the difference between Unique visitors & New visitors?

A count of how many different people access a Web site. For example, if a user leaves and comes back to the site five times during the measurement period, that person is counted as one unique visitor, but would count as five "user sessions."

Unique visitors are determined by the number of unique IP addresses on incoming requests that a site receives, but this can never be 100% accurate. Depending on configuration issues and type of ISP service, in some cases, one IP address can represent many users; in other cases, several IP addresses can be from the same user.
and the New visitors means the total no of visitors visits your website 1st time

 

A person visit your website for websites is a Unique Visit but the same person visit again then it will not a unique it is comes in visitors.!!!!!!!!

Unique visitor, Pageviews, New visitor - A New visitor simply mean new and never visited before as google analytic is concern and may view your posts or pages as many as he can. Unique visitor maybe identified to the time and the ip. Pageviews are the pages the your visitor have visited regardless they are new and unique visitors.

 

Dude they almost the same , Just that a unique visitor is particular in number and New visitor is the one who is seeing your site for the first time on his ip

 

Begonia, why dont you use Google to search your answer? There are many articles that will explain to you What is the difference between Unique visitors & New visitors.

 

the difference is that a new visitor could be recently connected to the site while the unique visitor is first time in the site

I searched in google. But, i am not cleared about that. becoz, if i am searching one web site from different systems and different places, then how to considered it is unique visitors and new vistors?

I think unique visitor is the visitor which comes form different IP address. New visitor is the visitor which come on your site first time. If these visitor come on same IP address even then they would count as new visitors.

Unique Visitor: Unique Visitors is the number of unduplicated (counted only once) visitors to your website over the course of a specified time period.

New Visit: New visit is the percentage of visits that were first-time visits (from people who had never visited your site before).

 

unique visitor is one who visited your site with new ip addesss. And you again visit the website after some time it will consider as visitors.

Same person visiting the site again and again cannot be considered as unique visitors.

 

even a repeat visitor can sometimes be a unique ONLY IF the connection is dynamic.
