    Make an effort to search the internet for blogs, message boards, or forums that tackle topics or content related to yours and that would allow you to post with links back to your own website. Gain a good impression by making your posts helpful information, not spammy ones. Then be sure that links to your website are in the form of anchor text or clickable keywords (not direct URLs) embedded in your post. That should get the readers hooked and interested to click your links. Earns you good reputation as a part of the online community too! :)

    Yeah blogging is one of the method to get backlinks but how do you get backlinks if your blog dont have backlinks too? This method is confusing too. Ive heard this about 2 years ago but I dont take it too much and now I see it again.

    I agree that blogging is the best backlinking strategy, but also having your own blog exposes you to a lot of spam, and any a decent comment every 6 months or so...

    It's not just within your blog that you need to be interactive and helpful to users. Go and find blogs and forums within your site's niche and actively participate in those. Not only do you help users and add value to the discussion, you also get backlinks and traffic to your site.
