How to publicize my blog?

Of course I do understand that I can make my blog more popular by promoting it among friends on FB, can ask for 'likes' on the sites I find fine; make comments to make myself visible; choose titles, tags with a view of how clear, trendy, frequently used they are....are there any other ways you would recommend to increase my rank?

 

I'd advise you the following:

1.use the AddThis.com or other similar social bookmarking
2.submit to blog directories (will cost you money)
3.learn about SEO and optimize content and backlinks
4.consider video blogging with YouTube
5.try some article marketing

Over a period as your backlinks and visitors increase, rank will also improve. Social websites and guest blogging are good means to improve traffic.

You should revise your complete blog configuration. My blogs (using aged domains!) do rank very well for their article headlines and h2s almost instantly, even without PR and back links.

 

Use huge amount of social sites that may helps to make your blog socialize.

 

Step 1: Make sure you have plenty, high quality (means interesting for your visitors), unique (written yourself, not copied) content on your blog
Step 2: Write a few articles about your interior design, and post them on article directories such as ezinearticles.com and such. This will create links towards your blog
Step 3: Write articles that answer peoples questions about the topic here on answers. Then answer their questions here in answers.
Step 4: Submit your website to directories such as dmoz.org and plenty of others
Step 5: Find other blogs about the same topic, and comment on their articles, make sure your comment adds something usefull, not just saying something like "great blog". Put a link to your blog in your comment.
Step 6: submit your blog to sites like mybloglog.com and blogcatalog.com and get a good community of friends there.

 

I think high page rank social bookmarking submission are the best way to improve traffic for your blog.

 

Create an infographic that is revelent to your niche and readers, people love looking at content in an unusual or different way. It's also good link bait for other blog writers.

put it on top of every search engines for your niche blog.
If your niche is "bags" put it on top or number 1 in all search engine.

 

Social media marketing is the best way to publicize your blog. Forum posting also gives blogs traffic by adding singnature link in the forums.

@Mr.Dog Your suggestions mean a lot and are an inspiration. As I have to learn so much, it’s a bit frustrating not to start a blog for so long. To make matters worse, my chosen blog platform is Wordpress.com and, I now see, it limits many good options like thorough config of AddThis: it’s only possible to have Share button at the side and I can’t paste AddThis Analytics code into The Head Zone. The same with Google Anaytics.
Are there any blog directories for free? I’ll consider some video and guest blogging – they seem relatively clear to start with, together with FB invitations, FB page for the blog. The most difficult one seems all these metadata you put with photos and title, text: maybe it’s that difficult technically, but requires consistency and accuracy. For example, I still know nothing about backlinks. I’ve subscribed to ezinearticles.com as they give a chance for free article marketing, bu still it seems impossible to istall their widget on’.com’

Install SEO plugins such as HeadSpace1 (in wordpress) - gives you the freedom to put META Tags in all your pages and posts - great for optimizing.
Google adwords - I know a lot of people hate them, cause they are very expensive sometimes, but for me they were quite helpful sometimes
Facebook ads - for me the best "laser" targeted ads, where you can drill down to basically a neighbourhood of a big city - amazing drill down options
