Why do you call these "authority sites"? Please explain... I was expecting a list of rather like... About.com, famous newspaper sites, major blogs, .edu sites... etc.

These are advertising sites and nothing to do with what the OP wanted. He said he is looking for sites to submit articles to - try submitting an article to Craigslist and see what happens. Try hitting the search box at the top right of this page and search for "Article Directories".

I was wondering how to use some of these sites... There are some that are simply "there" and show no evident indications about how we can use them. You'll have to sign up to most of them... It's hilarious how some sites are built. You'll crawl and wander across pages for 10-15 minutes until you'll find out how/where to post an article how/where to sign up, how to actually use the site... Perhaps they're clumsy designers or they're doing it on purpose to increase visitor metrics? (bounce rate, pageviews etc.)

I agreed with you site list...yes the Squidoo is one of the major article site....and their Squidoo Lens is so powerful....they will accept only genuine and unique content articles otherwise they will be deleted automatically...
