Trying to convert youtube videos to avi

I am pretty sure youtube videos flash videos.. In that case are they .SWF format or FLA ?

I'm trying to convert them to avi format. Any useful products are helpful. I tried a bunch of them...but keep getting a message saying that it's not a flash video.

 

The tool I use to extract them generates FLA files.

yes they are in flv format and it can be converted in any format ( e.g. .wmv or .avi).

I am looking at my Riva FLV Encoder and it seems to only convert to FLV and not the other way around. I guess I must really be missing something there. Will check again.

Grease Monkey Firefox plugin is pretty helpful, it'll let you know if you are able to download a video on the current page then you can save it as a FLV file and convert using Total Video Converter or any other converters you might find.

You guys are making it more trouble than it really is. Just go to Zamzar, enter the URL of the video you want, pick the format you want it converted to, enter the Email you want the download link to be delivered to and you're done.

I used DVDVIDEOSOFT to convert them in AVI, they are free to won and also very light I would recommend that!! I use ORBIT for downloading the videos of Youtube

 

You have to use firefox to do this. Download firefox and then go here and download this extension.

Go to our youtube page and like at the bottom right of your browser. You should see a small video icon . Then jus tclick it and download. but change the extension to .avi.
