I really enjoy guest blogging and wonder if it's done much by people with new sites (or established sites).

Another possibility is inviting someone with an established blog to guest blog on your site (if it's a blog, of course). A good way to draw the guest blogger's traffic to your site.

 

In addition to the tips above you have to social bookmark your site as well, to sites like Digg.com and Stumbleupon.com. There is a free service called socialmarker.com where you can bookmark to a whole bunch of sites at once.

 

You're going the right way. Facebook, Twitter, youtube...etc and lots of SEO work.

 

I use article writing, Squidoo, Hubpages, and Facebook mostly so far. I'm still learning the ropes though. Commenting on forums and blogs seems to help some as well! There is some great information and ideas above!

 

Use Youtube to market your site. Many still don't take advantage of this free traffic tool. If you can figure out a way to make it work for you, you will not look elsewhere for traffic again.

I have come to realize that there's only one way to go; Paid traffic! Solo ads to targeted lists first and fore most. The internet is build up around advertising, and sneaking around in the outskirts trying to get free organic traffic is just a losing game, BUY your traffic and you will almost instantly build a list and make $$$$$, SEO/ organic is useless, takes to much effort and first of all too much time. This is just a harsh fact that took me way to long to realize.

I forgot 1 point i.e. Social networking.This is also an important part in internet marketing.

 

Well IMO the single best thing you can do is to create a membership site around your own product and offer an affiliate program so you can grow an army of affiliates to promote your site for you!

 

I would say a strong focus on social media would never hurt, especially google+. Google likes it when people use its services, and if you are very active within google+, youtube, and its other products it could definitely benefit your search rankings.

 

facebook helped me starting a few projects but backlinks from other blogs on the same niche helps a lot too
