I recommend you using WordPress. I use it for managing my sites and I am very satisfied with it. If you need a specific function that is not included in its core there is always a plugin that can do the job.

I think it depends on your preference and what you find easier to deal with - as Joomla and WordPress are both powerful tools to manage a website and equally great.

Watch this 1 minute video about Joomla Vs WordPress for creating websites: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qljJjfY6oC0

If after watching, your still not sure what to select - in my opinion, you should try both of them out, and then see which ones you like better - this is the best way to know for sure rather than asking random people, as everyones experience and preference will always differ.

I'd recommend you to use Wordpress in this case scenario.

I would suggest WordPress for blogging and Joomla for content. Joomla's backbone was built for CMS and WP was orginally for blogging. The resources are more limited for Joombla, but for CMS I think it rocks.

If you wanna make a Blog I prefer WordPress. This is the best CMS for blogging.
If you have good knowledge of Joomla, you can use it for website development and web designing.
I have tried both but WordPress is easy to use and User Friendly....

Yes there is a slight difference -if you watched the video I shared above, it explains it much clearer.

Also, WordPress has more free professional themes available than I have seen with joomla. I could be wrong tho so correct me anyone if this is not the case anymore.

There is no need to use Joomla unless you have any special requirements for your website. Wordpress is most widely used platform plus you number of plug-ins are available to enhance you website so going for it would be the best option.

Out of the box, wordpress is much simpler than joomla. Blogger is the simplest of them all. If you want to have complex a lot of feature out of the box, go joomla, otherwise wordpress.
