.me domain?

    Hi,
    I am planning on creating a free hosting directory with the .me domain name as all good .com are already taken. Do you think it is a good idea to use .me domain? Does google treat it same as .com? As I believe keyword is more important than TLD.

    I would suggest a .com
    seems like it has more weight but I don't think there is suppose to be any difference, not too sure but I have never had any luck with anything but .com's.

    I also prefer a .com

    It seems to convey a more established site in my opinion.

    Well, I am thinking of a .com now too :) But I will probably take some better keyword with .me also- just in case :)

    If you have good topic with quality content , it does not matter. You can use any Domain extension you want.

    Google does not treat country level domains the same as your Top Level domains. Country level domains get ranked according to their countries and preference are given by the country it belongs to. You will rank better in that country, but worse in the main Google search engine and very, very badly in other country's local searches on Google.
