    Both are effective for seo . According to me After On-page now concentrate on off-page optimization. We do it to create quality back links by submitting our site URL in high pr sites, if your site get more back links from high pr websites then chances of your site ranking on top in Google will be high. So both are important in seo and those sites ranking top on Google are well on-page and off-page work done.

    Both are effective and important for SEO. Because On-page means onside the website its give instant results like if you want change anything in website its shows on that time. And Off-page means work is off side website. You can use and do it Off-page techniques but its show results after crawling by search engine and long period ago. That's why we used the both optimization...!!

    On page optimization is On site optimization you have to make changes on your site like Meta Tag Creation, H1 tag, Alt Tag, Internal Linking, Content Optimization etc.

    Off Page Optimization: In off page optimization you have to submit your site link/Content to other sites. You can submit your content/link to Directory Submission sites , Social Bookmarking Sites, Article Submission sites this all are the off page activity.
