HTML/CSS site with blog--Where does it fit in?

Where does a blog fit in on a silo structure of a site with html/css. For instance you have an APPLES them and an ORANGES theme, and supporting pages underneath each for different kinds of apples and oranges. What are you supposed to do with your blog? Provided that in your blog you will be writing posts with fresh content about different kinds of apples and oranges?

You can actually edit both themes and make it into one though.

A mixture of the two? Do you mean that your website has two very different "themes" for sections of the website, yet the blog is stuck somewhere in the middle? Alternatively, you could switch the theme to match where they came from based on the referrer. Not sure if it's that important however :)

No they are very separate themes. I just didn't know the protocol for blogs added to an HTML site that is using a silo structure

Could just use a stand alone plain white style theme with your logo (or black depending on which is more suitable). I notice that's quite common these days, as long as the logo makes it recognizable, the rest doesn't really matter. Simpler the better.
