An Interesting Adsense Story - Account Banned but Reinstated very quickly

Google recently banned ads on a popular blog - googlesystem.blogspot.com - because it had google in the URL name.

The blog owner, Chitu, posted this on Google BLogoscoped blog, where it was picked by Matt Cutts.

Matt Cutts - "Hey, I'm writing to AdSense about this. In my personal opinion you should be allowed to show AdSense ads on your site, and I'll see if I can bring folks around to my world view. :)"

The adsense account was reinstated in the next few hours.

Roger Browne makes an interesting remark - 'But it shows this: Even with Google, it's not what you do or what you know that counts, it's who you know.'

It's just too bad that Google's official procedures are so awful that only people who can get the personal attention of Matt Cutts get a reasonable response from the Google monolith.

I was banned once, and reinstated pretty quick. I don't think it's just about who you know, it's about how well you cover your arse.

I guess this is a one-off case.. wish every(genuine) publishers get the oppurtunity to make-up for their mistakes.

But i think this was not fair from g's part to ban chitu. invalid clicks is another story.

Sad that it was cancelled, although it shouldn't have been, or matt cutts would not have helped.
Good that it got active again. :)
