    Hey Guys !!

    I am from India and I have an idea about a website for UK Audience. I want to buy a .co.uk domain name for SEO purpose.

    things I want to know are:

    • can I buy .co.uk domain name?
    • Are there any legal stuff in buying a .co.uk domain because I am not a UK resident?
    • Can I use word 'UK' in domain name?

    Just Register to Godaddy.com which is totally free. and then register your domain with any domain name as per your choice and with any extension as per your choice. there is no issue.

    If you are targeting UK Audience. then you should select.co.uk domain for your website.

    You can certainly buy a co.uk and do search for coupons before registering one. That will save you some bucks.

    Ans: Ofcourse you can if you like too but their UK domain registration come with minimum 2 years registration.

    Ans: Nope. The domain is open everyone to register even not UK resident .

    - Can I use word 'UK' in domain name?
    I believe that would not be a problem as long it still available.

    You can buy it through Godaddy or Namecheap even if you are not from UK.you can use your PP or Credit card for that.

    If you are expecting country specific visitors / clients then .co.uk is best and in my knowledge there is no special process for it, just go to domain seller's site and buy one.

    For buying a .co.uk domain residence in uk is not obligatory.
    Using UK in domain name may not be a problem.
