Anyone notice strange behavior

Anyone notice really strange rankings in the past few days? Seems like for me I am in and out in and out. I add new pages (indexed for a few days) then boom gone and then they come back. I'm wondering if anyone else is noticing strange issues like mine.

 

I've seen a few threads here of people complaining of similair problems. One said they had pages indexed, they disappeared, and when I viewed the site on Google there were pages indexed. So you're probably not the only one seeing strange behaivor.

There is DEFINITELY something going on. On this forum alone, I have read 20-30 reports of peoples sites coming out of the Google SandBox, including mine. Probably an algo change. I hope it sticks.

 

Exactly the same situation. I have seen a bit more spam in the SERPS I track as well. Also noticed the results returned (number) are changing dramatically. I realize it depends on the DC you hit, but I have never before seen such wide fluctuations in DCs.

I too, I'm living this situation of up and down. That concerns just a few pages.

 

Something is going on. I ran a test on mcdar.net and some DC's have me 11 for ranking and then some others have me 400 and pages keep appearing and disapearing.

Although I do see some increase in a extremely popular term so I hope the new results stick and spread.

 

I spoke with someone seeing strange index stats under the Google webmaster tools, seem the site was bouncing in & out of the index.

 

Well yes, i am too certain that something is going on. One of my sites on rank 1 - 2 yesterday for more five keywords. Now not even seen till page 5 of SERPS... i dont know what happened suddenly.

 

Last night I posted in Out of the Sandbox that one of my keywords started appearing. Just checked tonight and that keyword has now jumped to number #8, hope this sticks!!

 

I hope google rewards me too. LOL.. i am in a SEO contest and my site has more backlinks than the top ranker in the contest. But i am no where seen till the tenth page. Probably i am in the sandbox.

 

Isn’t there always something going on with Google?
I don’t understand the secrecy on Google’s behalf. Where is the problem if they would just tell us a PR, backlink or any other update is coming up. I find it very frustrating every time my site goes up or down I wonder if I have done something wrong or if Google has changed something.

Yes, this issue is being brought up quite frequently.
Google is sometimes mysterious.

 

Yeah there is always something going on but sometimes its not as major as others.

The reason why they are so secret about it is so they dont give anything away to help spammers or anyone else wanting to rank high.

 

see a negative change (read:1000) in reported backlinks by google but SERPs still holding steady, if not climbing a position or two, or three.

 

Maybe an announcement after the update will do the trick. On the other hand it would stop all the endless page-rank update alert threads on this forum and that would be a real shame.

 

I couldnt agree more and probably most webmasters would say the same. I think that has been brought up over at WMW with someone suggesting they should do it via the Google webmaster tools but nah as the words of Shawn, its not going to happen.

 

For the past two days one of my forums had a 1 1/2 year old thread rank number one for a particular key phrase. I got several thousand hits form google over the two days. Then this evening, in the blink of an eye, gone. Not even listed and that particlular traffic died to nothing.

 

AHA! I am not alone.

I have a site that ranks for its primary keyword phrase
#1 in MSN
#22 in yahoo
and it had went from around #20 in Google to #5 a week ago. Then three days ago, it completely disappeared from googles results and went supplemental.

I also noticed that when I enter the keyword phrase, there had been over
40k results prior to a few days ago, now there are only about 554!!!!

So yeah, I dont know what is going on, but I was quite happy with the progress the site was making, and then it suddenly is slammed into oblivion.

Suggestions are welcomed

 

I have been running DC checks since last night and it looks like this change is going to stick. I couldn't be happier. This change was what I have been waiting for and have poured months of work into it.

I'm sure over the coming weeks there will be a lot of analysis on this one.

Anyone NOT happy with the change?

A website was getting about 1200 visitors a day e now BANG! gone.

My Log is something like this:

800 - 900 - 1200 - 1200 - 200 - 200 - 200

Sucks...

And the number One page Has Pagerank 2 (mine has 3) no backlinks (mine has 4) and doesn´t have the keywords in the domain (mine has).

Really crazy. Hope it´s just a temporary thing.
