Why do people reply to forum posts with.........

    And other responses along those lines?

    When whomever you messaged comes back to DP, they will get a message that they have a PM waiting. Alternately, some have the notifications send to their email address so they can respond to them from there.

    Just curious.....

    NUmber one reason would be post count I think.
    Though as a thread creator I don't really mind because it bumps up my threads in most forums. :p

    Yeah.. post count, because it may increase there level of access in forums. And also, they may don't want the other person to ignore their message. :p maybe

    Oh, I thought this was going to be a thread about how people post a new thread with a question as the title, and their OP is the answer to the question, which begs the question as to why the thread was created in the first place.

    ...it's frustrating.
