Hey Guys, just wanted to share my strategy, and wanted to get your feedback on it. So here it is: Before the major Google changes I used to use same anchor text for most of my submissions, but now I try to keep more and more variations in my submissions.. Although it has gotten a little harder to target keywords to get them to rank better but the it seems to work. What I use to build links, positioned according to priorities. Firstly I do some directory submissions in the first 5-10 days, as they take time to get approved, and till then I work these: 1. Articles/Blog/Press Release Posting (twice of thrice a week 2. Guest Blogging (Once or Twice a Month) 3. Forums Posting (3-4 days a Week) 4. Blog Commenting (3-4 days a Week) 5. Classifieds Posting (Once or Twice a Week) 6. Business Profiles (Once or Twice a Month) 7. Link Exchange and Vote Exchange (Weekly Basis) During this whole process, social sharing on various platforms is continued from start to the end. I build random amounts of links everyday, e.g.: Day1 = 50Links, Day2 = 10Links, Day3 = 25 Links, etc. I keep continuing this process until I've reached the results. [New strategy, old strategy was totally different] I use around 40-50 variations of a single keyword when submitting them for 1 just Link... Surely a very slow process, but Safe and definite to bring results, and increase web presence.. Well, that's just about it. Good strategy to get backlinks from various source. Getting backlinks from various source from different source is must after penguin update. Also keyword variation & mixed of dofollow/nofollow links are important. We should concentrate on quality of links created everyday, not quantity. Thats a very good link building strategy! Only difference I have is new content every day, thats the only difference. The hardest part for me is finding good blogs to comment on with do-follow links.
Exactly, That is what I do too. You often hear people say that directories and classifieds don't work now.. But that's non sense.. Everything matters until you don't go crazy doing them. Gaining links from different types of websites is important so that it looks genuine. I more focus on Do follow links, but that doesn't mean I neglect the No-Follow links, as I said, every link is important.
I'm guessing you have a news/article site, so If you have new content everyday that you can most probably target Forums, Blogging sites (tumblr, blogger, wordpress) and Bookmarking sites to gain good links for each of your content page.
Posting blogs and articles in the respective directories is certainly not sufficient until you promote their URLs in social media sites and and other networks(for caching and indexing). It will give value to your content and improves its impression on the web. After few days you will see your blog or article links in higher ranking position. In another way it also help gaining ranking position in SERP. Hope you like my concept of promoting content.
I think you actually have a great diverse strategy. Too often IMers only do one method for their links, but quality matters over quantity in the post Panda/Penguin world. Keep it up and you will continue your success long-term!

Link building is the process of increasing incoming links for the website and you need to increase your backlinks on high pagerank websites.
Try to make the content on your site so good that it generates links naturally. That's the best method but not easy.
