Do I need HTML knowledge to create a forum?

Discussion in 'HTML & Website Design' started by anaxa77, Aug 26, 2012.

I am very interested to create a forum site of my own. I know some HTML basic. Just today I have created a free forum site: http://itsdtalk.forum.com.bz/ for free.

But I am not satisfy that the forum is not dofollow. Is there any way to modify this forum as dofollow? Also I will appreciate if you give me a dofollow forum creator site. Which forum will be dofollow also free.

Please suggest me, how can I create a forum site. How much I need to spend for a forum site.
Please, I am waiting for your answer.
    Thanks in advance.

You can use a forum builder software like phpBB. It requires minimum html knowledge and offers lot of customizations.

    No, you don't.

Unless you're talking about designing forum software from the ground up, which you aren't, I think....all you need is the technical know-how to install forum software, which amounts mostly to reading instructions. And some awareness. most customization is of the same nature - you don't need to go in and dig through it all yourself.

vBulletin would be your best choice. Costs like $200 for license but worth ever penny in that.

Of course, all the forum frameworks use HTML as part of their codes.

Some people download a easy to install forum software and they just need to know a little bit of understanding of some html codes.

phpBB is a good forum to use. You will get better results with a little HTML and CSS knowledge to enable you to tweak the theme for colour etc.

If you want to add mods then a little understanding of PHP would help.
