    I use Apple.... it's features are interesting but quit confusing when u make a shift from Windows OS to Apple OS... But still Apple has got the beauty.

    DELL has always been a class act, but, you pay more for it.
    HP use to be great, but idk since Compaq took them over.
    Compaq has always been an innovative company, but in my support experience usually results in something quirky and unique to them. Care and feeding of a specific system.
    We have had many eMachines over the years. As a budget machine (not lower end, just lower cost), more have been worth it than not (but, some not). They seem to have gotten better over the years.
    Gateway, ACER, etc. are typically on the low end of the price ranges, but, kinda a crap shot on whether it turns out well.
    My former Gamer capable machine was a Gateway, and this year I replaced it with an HP.
    IBM, of course was the original, however, historically more in the HP and DELL price range. All three companies have mainly focused on Corporate Accounts where dozens or hundreds get ordered at a time.

    Hope this helps. Just my to copper pieces worth!

    Oh, and the laptop I am on now is a Toshiba Satellite. It is always in the running when I am looking for a laptop.

    I always build my own system, it's cheaper and works the best. You can upgrade any part at any time without worrying about guarantee of the case, because each part seperatedly has it's own guarantee certificate.
