Please advise 1,8k visits website, and 4euro/day adsense

Hello everybody,

I have a website with the following characteristics:

Links in google: About 581,000 results
Visits/day: 1800(unique)
Avg. Visit Duration: 00:00:38
94.36%Search Traffic

Alexa Rank:1 004 000 and 6 sites linking in(i know i should get more back links)

Adsense income: about 3-4euro/day
My question is, how can i earn more with this website?

The website is about searching inside of documents(which you can upload), or inside of the News and Video(i get the videos from youtube, with description and comments)

I would appreciate all those willing to spare a trick or two

Your stats looks ok, you should get more traffic in your niche to get more clicks then more revenue. You can tweak your ads, blend it and place it somewhere where every visitor can see it without scrolling down or anything.

Use big format ads like the 336*280 and the 728*90 and try to use text link ads only, then image ads only and test what works for you best.

 

For a few days i am doing a bit of research on how to do this, but my website is not focused on a niche, it had a lot of contents from different fields(some are on a niche, others aren't)

I am using big ads, well placed, and i am using both text and image.

 

What niche are you in?

 

Your average visit duration is terrible... Have you considered doing something about it?

The 94.36% SE traffic is great though.

Play with ad positioning and try to get the large ad units up front. Use text links whenever possible. Blend ad text colors with site theme. Never think image/rich media ads are the only options.

 

I am not sure of the niche, let's say it is about tutorials, documents and knowledge

you have to find a way to make people stay longer on your website and then you will be able to get more adsense money

Your stats are pretty impressive. Content is the king to get more visitors. Besides, forum posting, social bookmarking, yahoo answer, article submission are very fruitful to get more traffic.

 

You seem to have done an excellent job at getting the traffic.with your stats however I wonder if you are getting the proper targeted traffic.I am not convinced that you are and that perhaps would explain why the site visit duration time is so low.if you are getting traffic that is not interested in your site , then I would presume that they wouldn't be interested in the ads either .

 

Try to have some better placement.. That will surely help you..

 

Promotion is the key, comment on the blogs with high PR-s

 

What kind of articles/documents does consist in your site, it depends on the niche to earn more money, if it is Insurance, Technology, Automobiles and Stock would be paid high, like when you have Fashion, Movies, Actor and Actress site then you'd be paid less.
Looking into your stats, most probably your bounce rate would be high (cause Avg time is just 00:00:38), so make your bounce rate lesser and check out your landing page and work on that article and keep your visitors engaged on your site.

As mentioned by @theprince use that recommended ad formats and let your ads would be visible in "F" type so that it might help you to earn more. (Search for "F" type format ads in google you may get the tips to use it on your site).

Promote your blog in major social media sites Pinterest, Stumbleupon and Reddit.
