I have 6 year old website, i update it daily with content, but yet I am getting less than 90 uniques per day in google analytics. Pages views are in range of 150 to 300 per day I think this is very low considering, I have done a lot of SEO work, each page has its own meta tag and description plus there are so many hot categories , I should be getting atleast an average of 1000 visitors per day Please see and suggest and help , here is the linky
Well, Google like fresh content. But updating your website daily with a fresh content is not a good idea to get more traffic. Of course, if you have newsletter etc for daily update that you can change it on a daily basis but yes, content change is not good. Rest lost of SEO based on many factors like : How many backlinks you do have? this help to get better keyword ranking in search results.
Good content is not enough to bring people to your site. You might want to start SEO campaigns such as becoming active in social media and forums where your target visitors hang out.
You need to spend a lot of time on keyword research before you do the SEO, if you don't target the correct keywords you are just spinning your wheels.
Thanks for the comments I do put the relevant meta-tags for each article I submit. Are you saying that having a wide variety of categories is a problem ?, even though there is substantial amount of articles in each category
